I have not been able to post for a while due to my apartment getting a new internet provider. I am back now, so I will be posting away. What have I been up to? Let me tell you.

I read a lot. I finally finished reading Beth Moore’s “Breaking Free” which I will be posting a book review on this week. “Breaking Free” is an amazing book and I would like to see more people reading it. I also finished reading “Renewed” by Lucille Zimmerman and I will be posting my review on this one too. I also finished two novels Leota’s Garden by Francine River and The Good Guy by Dean Koontz, both excellent books.  I started reading a new book that will take me a long time to finish in the same category of “Breaking Free” called “Confident Heart” by Renee Swope. All I have to say is that I have to stop every few paragraphs so that I can process the information. This week away from the Internet was productive with my reading. I made a decision to once a week go to the public library and check out movies and novels. I have been reading a lot of non-fiction lately and I am in need of some good stories.

I have come to the conclusion that I must stop being afraid of what people will be thinking of me while I am moving my body. I need my wheel chair in order to have a place to sit down while I am walking outside to get exercise. Not because I am having difficulty breathing, but because my back is hurting badly. I am not sure what is going with my back, but I have decided to go talk to my primary about it and see what I can do about it. I might have to get physical therapy to help me, but I don’t know yet. The point I am trying to make it why should I let what others are thinking stop me from doing what I need to do for my own health. Yes, I am not the sexy leotard woman exercising and looking all buff and sexy while I am sweating up a storm. I am an obese woman who is making better choices and right now I am in need of the wheel chair so that while I am working out and my back is killing me I can sit down and then get back up and get it done.

I was able to go to the Furry Tea Fundraiser hosted by Living Ministries which I am the secretary for. Myrtle’s Teahouse in Ridgefield Washington was the location for this fabulous event. What an amazing place! The tea was awesome. I sampled cinnamon tea and a raspberry tea along with the finger sandwiches and amazing dessert plate. If you have not experienced Myrtle’s then I suggest you get down there with a group of your lady friends. You will not regret it at all. Last year was the first fundraiser we did for Angel Wing’s Ministry and we didn’t have that many that showed up, but this year we packed the room this year. We were so blessed with the generosity of Elizabeth who owns and runs Myrtle’s and the people who purchased items in our auction. I have no idea how much was raised for Angel Wing’s, but I know that we all had a great time. I know that Debra, who runs Angel Wings, was blessed by the event.

A lot of changes are happening in my life the month of February, first I got a new caregiver, whom I am enjoying having around. Second, a couple of my friends are starting to care more deeply about their own health and want a healthier lifestyle just like I do. I now know there will be support and that is something I am in need of right now. Though the support will be long distance, it still helps to have a community of like-minded individuals around me. As you can see I am still breathing even without having internet to entertain me.

I have no idea when I will be back on, but I am at Star Bucks with Karen and Summer.
