don't

I wasn’t sure that I was all together interested in reading “Don’t Despair” by Matias Daslgaard but I was offered the chance to read it and so I took it. I’m glad I did.

Daslgaard letters from his uncle Morten felt similar to me reading letters from my dad before his passing in 2005. He never wrote me, but I know that my father went on a sojourn with his Christian faith and his relationship with himself and others a couple of years before he passed away. I was young at the time, selfish, busy, and just didn’t want to sit down and talk to my dad at length about what he was learning. I wish I had.

The part that truly touched my heart the most was the part when Morten talked about non-despair and what those characteristics looked like. Joy, courage, grief, humility, and humor were the ones that he focused on. I hope everyone gives Don’t Despair a chance and finds it valuable.
