Invisible Illness Week will be upon us in a week. This years theme is “Just One”. I love it.

Here is my meme for 30 things you didn’t know.

 

1. The illness I live with is: Wegener’s and Rheumatoid arthritis.
2. I was diagnosed with it in the year: in 2010
3. But I had symptoms since: 2008
4. The biggest adjustment I’ve had to make is: letting many things go in my life, such as my expectations in life. I have had to give up many of my dreams since I became ill that being said, I have gained a lot of blessings also.
5. Most people assume: that I am positive all the time, but I have my bad moments like everyone.
6. The hardest part about mornings are: waking up, sometimes I am just too tired to get up.
7. My favorite medical TV show is: New York Med
8. A gadget I couldn’t live without is: my laptop and my phone
9. The hardest part about nights are: sleeping, because when I lie down I cough and cough.

11. Regarding alternative treatments I: I am for them. I use do-terra oils and I’m motivating my eating habits and using exercise. This week I’m aiming to move my body more.
12. If I had to choose between an invisible illness or visible I would choose: invisible
13. Regarding working and career: I do not have a job. My small trachea causes me breathing issues.
14. People would be surprised to know: that I can’t smell. It frustrates me.
15. The hardest thing to accept about my new reality has been: the lonliness.
16. Something I never thought I could do with my illness that I did was: I wrote a book. It is in the editing and find a cover photo for my book. I hope to get it published in a year.
17. The commercials about my illness: I have not seen any about Wegener’s, but the ones for RA make me angry because they make a lot of assumptions.
18. Something I really miss doing since I was diagnosed is: Swimming, sticking my head under water.
19. It was really hard to have to give up: hanging out with friends, going for walks and hikes with them. Just having fun.
20. A new hobby I have taken up since my diagnosis is: blogging. I read books, recipes and it has helped to alleviated some of my lonliness.
21. If I could have one day of feeling normal again I would: go to the beach, run on the water, ride a horse, swim in the, dunk my head under water, stick my nose in a field of lavender or roses and smell away.
22. My illness has taught me: Not to take anything for granted. That I am valuable just like everyone else is valuable. Even though I’m ill I can still do things. It just looks different than the average person. Yes my throat is smaller than everyone else’s, it doesn’t mean I can exercise and live a life.
23. Want to know a secret? One thing people say that gets under my skin is: You are boring.
24. But I love it when people: send me flowers, cards, or even phone me to talk. Or just come by and hang out with me.
25. My favorite motto, scripture, quote that gets me through tough times is: James 1:4
26. When someone is diagnosed I’d like to tell them: allow yourself to grieve and don’t give up hope.
27. Something that has surprised me about living with an illness is: everything is possible.
28. The nicest thing someone did for me when I wasn’t feeling well was: an old friend had flowers delivered to me. It make my day.
29. I’m involved with Invisible Illness Week because: I like the community support. It revives my soul.
30. The fact that you read this list makes me feel: hopeful. It feels to express things and let others know what is going on with me.
