Thinking Out Loud

I decided that it was time to try this meme out that I found on the blog Running with Spoons. What has been on my mind?

1)  Chargers: my charger for my lap top gave up the ghost last week. I had to get a new one. Guess what happened? I shared that I needed a new one and so one friend of mine got me one and then my sister got me one. I now have two of them. Who knew? At least I am prepared if this happens again.

Zucchini: Before my charger went kaput I found a recipe for zucchini noodles that I knew I wanted to try. According to the recipe it required some fancy dandy tool that I do not own. I decided I will try to make noodles without the tool. I used my handy vegetable peeler. I love my vegetable peeler. You can make slivers of cheese with it and now I can make zucchini noodles with this device.

Prednisone: I have been taking prednisone for the last 5 years. I have developed the prednisone face which means that I have this big round chubby face that makes me look like I have 2 dozen chins. I am happy to say that the last time I went to my Rheumatologist I was reduced down to 2.5 mgs. I am happy to report my face is smaller and I have been losing weight. This month I lost 10 pounds. Prednisone makes you hold on to and gain weight, as well as a prednisone butt, face, or belly. I wish the prednisone went to my butt since I don’t have much of one, but I am glad it didn’t go to my tummy.

4)  Uplifting music: While on my sabbatical I discovered that my antenna TV has a channel for Christian music. I watched it a lot. Since most of my music is on my lap top. There were a ton of songs that I loved and uplifted me. Such as Toby Mac, DC Talk, Newsboys, Mandisa, Hillsong United, Casting Crowns, Mercy Me, Natalie Grant, Fire flight, and Jason Crabb.

5)  Spiritual gifts: While watching the Christian channels. I listened to a sermon about spiritual gifts. Hmm, I didn’t know that we have spiritual gifts. I heard of fruits of the spirit, but these gifts are ones we have. Read 1 Corinthians 12:1-10. These gifts are: speaking a message of wisdom, power to express a word of knowledge, wonder working faith, extraordinary powers of healing by the one spirit, working of miracles, prophetic insight interpreting the divine will and purpose, ability to discern and distinguish between utterances of true spirit and false ones, various kinds of tongues, and ability to interpret tongues.
