Purpose Driven Life
“The purpose Driven Life” by Rick Warren came into my life on December 2nd, 2014. I just finished the 40 days. I am amazing what I learned about myself. I still have no idea what my calling is. I do know now that I was made to worship Jesus. But for my service. I have no idea. That is why serve is one of my focus word, as well, as surrendering to God. This book gave me pause to think about what it is to serve. It could be simple as smiling at someone or even to pick up some groceries for a neighbor in need. It is only day ten of 2015 and I still have no idea what it is to serve in a healthy and loving way. The exercise in this book are easy to do. Many days I kept in my mind the questions he would ask you to focus on that day.
Surrendering and serve two of the focus words that I received from reading this book. Surrender because I am going through a lot with my health and the many changes I must make in order to serve and be able and capable of achieving my heart’s desire. I have some thoughts. Finishing and writing my book. I feel like it needs more. I have not read it or written. I don’t feel it is time yet. I feel it is coming close though. I also want to work with those with health challenges, especially with auto-immune issues that play havoc with the body. I don’t think I will ever be perfectly healthy like my brother or sisters. I do know that I will be fitter than I am now. If I allow myself to move. Keeping up your temple, meaning your body, allows you to serve others. I am always praising and saying thank you to God. Especially this week, as I received good news from ENT. I am grateful. I’m realizing my perfect might not be someone else’s version of perfect. But I am not going to let that stop me from achieving what I must so I can serve and be a testimony to God’s love for me. As you can see I got a lot out of reading this book. Yes, this is another great find from my apartment’s giveaway table. I’m finding that the books people leave are just the ones that I am needing. That is one of things I am thankful to God for. I hope that you will get to spend 40 days with Jesus and Rick Warren as you and Jesus explore your journey. This is a helpful tool. PS, if someone would like to borrow this book. I am willing to share it. Just let me know.
