Chronic

“How to Live Well with Chronic Pain and Illness” by Toni Bernhard I believe is a book that every person who suffers and those who know someone who suffers from Chronic illness or pain needs to read. I love that Bernhard gives suggestions on being mindful and self-care tips for those of us who are suffering. I also love that she has a section for caregivers and how to be kind and respectful to our caregivers even if we are having a painful day. I think this is so important. For me, I have two caregivers, my nephew and another lady. Together, they come in four days a week. Having a good attitude in spite of being in pain or being grumpy keeps these relationships healthy and strong. No one wants to help someone who is constantly complaining, criticizing, and condemning others. I know I wouldn’t. I try to have a good attitude and I forgive myself when I don’t. I also ask them to forgive me.

I am glad there are book coming out, like “How to Live Well with Chronic Pain and Illness”. It helps keep us all encouraged.
