Ever since I saw the movie War Room I started working on my prayer life. Praying builds up my relationship with Jesus and it also helps me focus on Him throughout my day. When I saw Amelia Rhodes book Pray A to Z I knew that I wanted to dive into this book. I love the fact that she is asking everyone to pray for their communities, for the homeless, the police, politicians, hospital workers, cancer patients, caregivers, and anyone that is in our community. Praying for each other I believe builds relationship. I have found that the A to Z methods Rhodes uses has helps me to remember to pray for those in my community. Every day I pick one letter of the alphabet and I pray through her suggestions. It is simple. I love when things are simple for this chronic illness lady.

Here are the things that I love about Pray A to Z:

  • I love the fact that it uses the alphabet to remind us who to pray for that day. It’s simple and something I can remember. As one who suffers from chronic illness and the brain fog it is nice not having to thing about everyone I should pray for. I read the section and I am quickly reminded what I need to pray. I appreciate this.
  • The book is small and makes it easier for me to pet my cat while reading then a big book. Only cat lovers would understand this, but I can hold the book and still have the cat next to me without my reading being disturbed. The perils of being a cat owner.
  • I love the fact that along with asking Jesus for blessings for our communities, she also incorporates praising our Lord. I have a hard time with the praising of Jesus. I feel inadequate when I do this.
  • I don’t know how she came up with things for Q, but Rhodes does.
  • I love that this book is lightweight, simple, and small so when I go to the hospital for my surgeries I can easily take this with me.
