radical

I believe in being honest, I couldn’t get into this book. I kept reading and thinking to myself these things could be real or are they just like those other fads that are going around the internet and in books. I hate giving negative reviews, so I decided to focus on the things that I found helpful to me and my wellness journey.

Here they are:

  • The states of breathing, Purka, Kumbhata, and Racaka. Since I live with a trach due to the fact that I have a tracheal stenosis breathing has been a focus for me for the last 8 years. I enjoyed reading about the different breathing techniques and the importance of oxygen for our bodies. I knew how important oxygen is to our bodies. I have seen the breakdown of my body because of lack of oxygen. I am and will be doing the breathing techniques in this book.
  • I was excited to see some great recipes for natural cleaning products. I live with a trach and I found the chemically cleaning products that you buy at the store too much for me to handle. My trach bypasses our natural filters, so the chemical smells go straight to my lungs and it hurts. I am glad to have different resources for cleaning now.
  • Healthy sleep routines. Sleep is vital for a wellness lifestyle. I know this. I especially love the chapter on sleep and having a sacred routine and making your own cave to promote good sleep. I live with a trach and have to wear a moisture mask that requires me having a large nublizer machine that makes a ton of noises in the room with me and I have to get up a couple of times a night in order to suction and clean out my inner cannula. I will find my routine.
  • Skin care is important to wellness too. Finally having a list of the bad chemicals stuff for your skin and the good stuff that nourishes your skin in one place so it is easier to spot when I purchase skin care products. This will help me.
  • The recipes in the back of the book look scrumptious. Salads, soups, smoothies, and desserts, how could you go wrong.

Even though there are many parts in this book that I just couldn’t get into, there were some good parts. It had some good information in it.
