In exchange for my review I was given a free copy of Seeking Aliveness by Brian D. McLaren from Faith Words. The opinions I express are my own and I was not influenced

Being alive, what does that mean to you? In Seeking Aliveness the reader explores what being alive is with Christ. I am enjoying reading this book. I’m finding out that I don’t know as much as I thought I did. That learning and experiencing and seeking something deeper is on my agenda for 2018. I want to experience God in a profound and deeply relational way. With McLaren’s 52 week devotional that is exactly what I am doing. I’m experiencing a deeply personal relationship with my Jesus.

For me, it is diving into scripture and gleaning insight into my faith and who I am in my faith. I read Genesis 2, where it says God breathed the breathe of life into man and he was alive. How profound is that? Maybe I am more intune with what breathing actually is since I live with a trachial stensis and my breathing is challenged. Breathing allows man and woman to be creative, active, have relationships, play instruments, dance, pray, love, hope, dream, write, experience relationships. It is everything. With one breathe God gave this to all of us. With one simple, precious breathe he breathed aliveness into man so he can live well and prosper. How awe inspiring is that. We take for granted the simple things that our bodies do for us. I would like you, my dear reader to take a moment, close your eyes and listen to your breathe and feel it in your body. Then take a moment and thank God for that breathe.

If you are looking for a devotional, this is one to consider.
