I want to let everyone know that I am not a woman of color. I am a woman. I do understand that woman of color have different types of issues and rules and even standards that are thrust upon them, especially those who are immigrants. Daniela Pierre-Bravo is a strong woman who with her chaotic and unstable upbringing made a career and stable life for herself. She understood that her rigid ways were causing issues and began changes in her life. I love her chapter on being an advocate for herself and others and using your own voice. With my illness being voice box/trachea located this hits me well. Using my voice and advocating for myself with my medical journey has been a struggle, a challenge, and even in a way peaceful. I just need to include it into other parts of my life.
This is a great book, I give it 4 stars out of five. I think any woman, no matter what color she is would find great value in this book and the advice Pierre-Bravo gives.
