When God created man and woman and then the woman ate the fruit from the forbidden tree and she got the entire blame for it and made to feel like she force feed it to Adam this story never set right with me. Because this is told from a mans perspective. What about the woman’s? Adam blamed Eve and did not take responsibility for his own actions in this story. God did punish both, because he is fair that way. However, in my experience, men often use this story to blame and then mistreat women and any mistakes the man makes is always the womans fault. They always come back to the story. So, I was not that excited to read this book because of my already formed opinions.
Author Jill Eileen Smith did an excellent job in showing Eve’s emotions and the different life she had to live because of the choices that she made and that Adam made. Their relationship was hindered and trust was lost. I can see that. Trust would be lost. They both walked a scummy line and both of them made poor choices in the end that got them kicked out of Eden. Though, Eve in the Bible story is hard for me, did end up liking this book. If you like historical fiction of Bible stories then this is a good choice.
