“Moonlight Memories” will become a special book. It is a book about grief. A young childed named Piper mother passed away a month prior and her father did not know what to do about his own grief or his own daughters. So he decided to purchase her a telescope. Pipe was not sure what or how to use this telescope, but she follower her dads direction and she saw her mother. Peace and sleep came to her. Most importantly, comfort from a loving woman came to her. I will let you read the rest of the story.
My experience with childhood death of a parent is similar to Pipers. I was thirteen when my birth mom passed away. Many changes in my body, heart, and soul happened all at once. Hormonal ones, spiritual one, and family changes. This pivotal moment in my life put a cut in some deep that I still feel it today at 49 years old. I have a couple of these big dent moments that I reconcile with. That being say, as adults we need to be able to handle the trauma and to allow our child to grieve appropriately and healthy. I was not able to grieve it in this manner. I’m doing that now. This book has great resources for children and adults to handle grief safely and healthily. I recommend this as a gift for grieving parents and children.
