I have been lazy this year with my blog in just doing book reviews and not writing much on my journey with healing from Sepsis and relearning my life and routines and making new life habits for myself. I will start with the one good thing that I am happy about. I have lost 164 pounds. I am now 216 pounds. I have not tried, but the sepsis and the infections in my legs and dealing with everything makes my appetite smaller than it used to be. I got my A1C down to 4.3 which means I am no longer considered a diabetic.
Here are some big things that are happening in my life right now:
1) I am awaiting new shoes that my insurance will cover for me. I already had my feet fitted for shoes. Although they are not stylish and are ugly geriatric grandma shoes. I need them for my feet and I have to accept this fact. No more cute shoes for me.
2) I got new medical insurance which will allow me to see a chiropractor, acupuncturist, massage therapist, and a nature pathetic doctor. I have been wanting this for a very long time and this is what I feel I need to continue my path towards being as well as possible while I live my best life. I have an appointment with a nature path doctor on October 30th. I am nervous and excited.
3) Because of the new insurance I was able to order a fitness kit and I decided on the strength training one with the free weights and bands. I hope one day to hire my own personal trainer to help me move as well as I possible can with the diseased body that I have now. I love the purple weights and the stretch bands. Now I have to remember to incorporate movement in my daily life.
4) With this new insurance comes a few other perks that will help me get things that I need so I can live well.
5) Nutrition is still a huge challenge for me. Although, I have not eaten any sugary things. Except this week, Halloween and the Holidays are going to be challenge. I bought a bag of mini butterfingers which are my favorites. Pray I don’t eat the entire bag in one sitting. I have done this. They are so darn good. I am not on a special diet. I’m trying to eat enough protein to heal my wounds, but I also have to think about potassium and magnesiums. My blood work indicates I am low on these vitamins. Potassium and magnesium powder is disgusting tasting. Thank God for 4 ounces of juice, but still it is nasty.
6) I currently have new wounds on my left leg too not just my right leg. They are superficial and I am keeping it that way. I am having the RN look and wrap them up too. It starts as blisters and then they look all over the place. It is nasty. I created a concoction of almond oil, turmeric essential oil, frankincense, Myrrh, and Copabia. I am noticing a difference in my skin.
7) I am struggling with getting good sleep because when I lay down my nerves in my feet and legs hurt terribly. So, I am hoping the chiropractor and massage therapy and acupuncturist will be able to help me with this. I do not wish to live on pain killers for ever.
Nicholas is still rocking and living his best life. He is my sweet boy and a great companion for me. I am thankful.
