My health became super important to me when I first experienced not being able to breathe well.  At first I thought it was because I was out of shape. When that was not it, I went and saw my doctor. It turned out my trachea was closing up and if you read my blog you know about that journey. Health, women’s health deserves to be respected and fought for. My first tracheal dilation surgery I made a mind change that I was worth fighting for. I am worth fighting for and who better to fight for me than me. This was my game changer.

Recently, I decided to go back to the basics of what works for me on my health. I gave up after I got sepsis. I was exhausted and felt extremely weak from it. I still feel weaker than I did before sepsis. I am getting stronger. I see the improvements. I am grateful.

I gained inspiration to keep fighting by reading Sharon Malone, M.D.’s book “Grown Woman Talk”. I love that Malone has a playlist of music in the back of her book that goes with each chapter. In the chapters she has where the song is valid. She teaches you to fight and gives you the tools, research, and ways to communicate with your health team and your family about what you need. I marked a lot in this book with pink post it notes. This will be a resource book for me on my shelf. I highly recommend any female should read this book to learn about her body and how it works, especially with her menstrual cycle and menopause. It is important to be educated.
