In my younger years I dreamt about owning my own bookstore. I wanted to have a bookstore along with a coffee shop. I wanted an oasis for readers like me and I wanted a place safe and warm and cozy to hang out and to hold events. Sadly, that will never happen.
Reading Katie Clapham’s book Receipts From the Bookshop brought this dream of mine forward. Reading the daily short excerpts that made me laugh, cry, and feel her joy and pain gave me an opportunity to pretend to book an owner of a bookshop.
Clapsham’s book comes out in September 2026. If you enjoy memoirs and travel and life adventures then this is a good read for you.
